CAS-AM: Week 1, Day 4

CAS-AM: Shaping the Future of Thrombosis Care

Day 4 and last day of the 1st week of the CAS-AM antithrombotic management course. Closing the week with great lectures by experts on antiphospholipid syndrome (Stéphane ZUILY, @Rolf Urbanus), thrombosis and pregnancy (Saskia Middeldorp) and mechanisms of aspirin (Carlo Patrono). Participants presented their outcome for the 3th case on “A pregnant patient with thrombosis and a thrombocytopenia” with impressive slides and discussion. In the upcoming months they will work on their portfolios, guided by mentors.

All this isn’t possible without the enthusiasm of both participants and faculty, the endorsement by International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), Societa’ Italina per lo Studio dell’Emostasi e della Trombosi (SISET), European and Mediterranean league Against Thrombotic Disorders (EMLTD), European Congress on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ECTH), and the support of LEO Pharma, Daiichi Sankyo, Inc., Werfen, Bayer, AstraZeneca, Anthos Therapeutics, Stago BNL, and Nederlands Fonds voor Trombose en Hemostase, and the organizational support by Pauwels Congress Organisers – PCO headed by Susanne Pauwels.

On behalf of the LOC: thank you all for this outstanding and educational 1st week. Looking forward seeing everybody back in November for the 2nd course week.
